Tea at the Ritz 2016

Pretty bone china teasets, aspidistras, art deco pictures, soft lighting from two chandeliers (made by Gerry Howes) and the glow of the overhead heaters changed the ambience of the Village Hall, to create an intimate and cosy atmosphere for those coming to enjoy their Tea at the Ritz.

David Green and Suzi Hedgecock provided background music (on the piano and cello respectively) all afternoon, completing the picture of a grand occasion.

The master of Ceremonies took care of seating our 90 guests, whilst a team of waiters and waitresses served 4 types of tea and a vast array of cakes and sandwiches.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and many dressed in 20's and 30's costume to really get in the mood.

The Special Events Committee would like to thank Linda Tuppen for her catering expertise, Janet Bates for the table flowers, Josh Jarvis and Jean Ingram for all their hard work and all who provided food and loaned or gave china.

Many thanks to all who came to tea and helped raise £500.
